Silhouette 'Negative' Type Zipper Cards

For this months challenge over at KBD, we are to use this fun kit, Signed. Sealed. Delivered., on our projects. I was thrilled! I have loved those zipper pull envelopes in that kit for the longest time!

For these two cards, I wanted to make the envelope a part of the card, instead of it's main purpose, as an envelope for the card. So, I added some type in the Silhouette program to the side flap of the envelope so that when I glued the card together, the text would show on the front side of the card. I added some strips of cardstock in varying colors behind the negative cut text to add some fun color.

I glued each envelope on to a cardstock base. The little zipper pull to open the card is the funnest part! To add a little detail to it, without distracting from the cut text below, I stamped a small saying stamp onto the top of the zipper pull. Now all the recipient has to do, is pull that little cardstock zipper off and pull out their special card hidden inside. So fun!

Don't forget about the giveaway open on the post below for a post in Kerri's new Silhouette die-cutting class at JessicaSprague.com! It will close tomorrow, Friday! :)
