SketchBook 4 Class Giveaway!!

I am super honored that my sweet friend, Kelly Purkey, asked me to contribute a layout to her new class at Studio Calico, Sketchbook 4! I have contributed to her other classes and I have to say - they never fail to inspire me! I love the sketches and love seeing how other artist interpreted the sketch and make it their own. It is a fabulous concept!! And she is back, with another fabulous Sketchbook class! I hope that you will come and join her!

Here is some information about the class:

Join Kelly Purkey in another installment of her popular Sketchbook class! Sketchbook 4 is a four week class filled with fresh sketches, easy instructions, beautiful examples, and lots of fun. This class is designed to be used at any time and over + over again when you need inspiration.

Sketchbook is different from any other sketch class out there because Kelly and the contributors offer design tips and detailed explanation of what makes a page work. It's more than sketches - they’ll deliver valuable pointers for creating great layouts.

By the end of the class, you'll have a complete sketchbook of 12 original sketches, 38 layouts, and an ADDITIONAL 38 sketches based on those creative pages. All the examples are brand new layouts, exclusive to this class... you won't see them anywhere else! You will be receiving an example layout from Kelly for each of the sketches, along with two example layouts from a Studio Calico Design Team member and some of your favorite SC Guest Designers.

And, Ms. Purkey is letting me giveaway a free class to a lucky blog reader! So, leave a comment here and I will post a winner on Wednesday! If you want to go ahead and sign up for the class, you can go here. She will refund you if you win! :) Good luck!!

Silhouette 'Negative' Type Zipper Cards

For this months challenge over at KBD, we are to use this fun kit, Signed. Sealed. Delivered., on our projects. I was thrilled! I have loved those zipper pull envelopes in that kit for the longest time!

For these two cards, I wanted to make the envelope a part of the card, instead of it's main purpose, as an envelope for the card. So, I added some type in the Silhouette program to the side flap of the envelope so that when I glued the card together, the text would show on the front side of the card. I added some strips of cardstock in varying colors behind the negative cut text to add some fun color.

I glued each envelope on to a cardstock base. The little zipper pull to open the card is the funnest part! To add a little detail to it, without distracting from the cut text below, I stamped a small saying stamp onto the top of the zipper pull. Now all the recipient has to do, is pull that little cardstock zipper off and pull out their special card hidden inside. So fun!

Don't forget about the giveaway open on the post below for a post in Kerri's new Silhouette die-cutting class at JessicaSprague.com! It will close tomorrow, Friday! :)
